For all the foreign visitors, some english!

Well this I should have done long ago, but since I went bragging about my SAAB abroad I have to write something in the big language. I am a crazy SAAB nut and since I was 17 my cars have almost all been of this great brand, 99´s, 96´s, 900´s and 9000´s, turbos and twostrokes all wonderful cars. Of course I have owned some cars of other brands so I have the comparison, Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Mercedes, Suzuki, Renault, Subaru, etc. This has lead me to a conclusion, there is no other car for me. Since summer 2002 I have been participating in the Icelandic dragracing championship with some good results, at least this is what I think. The first summer I got down to 13,76 sec. and 108.5 miles on the stock turbine, intercooler and good old LH 2.2 (stock inj. 214 cc) with raised fuel pressure (adjustable to 4 bar) and boost (manually controlled up to 1,4-1,5 bar) we filled the custom made 84 mm exhaust system with hot gasses and broke 2 diffrentials with some really big BF Goodrich drag radial in the front and stock clutch.
The next summer (2003) I got this great stand alone ECU from Autronic and controlled both ignition and injection with larger injectors (520 cc), turbo was upgrated with T3/T04E trim 50 and bigger turbine wheel (stage 3), custom made wheelie bar put pn the back, also got some better tires for dragracing purposes, 26/8,5/15 M/T ET drag, better clutch was also installed from Bullyclutch. The results of this were 12.26 sec. and 113.35 miles and two broken pistons L. We needed more fuel.
With some donor parts from another SAAB with 230k on the clock and ported head came summer of 2004, bearings and piston rings were new for being on the safe side. Along came also model b analyser from the Autronic company, with the stand alone ECU it works magic. Bigger fuel pump is now installed (240 litres/h @ 5 bar) Results are 12.1 @ 115.1 and the motor is healthy as a horse. It seems to love the 2 bars of icelandic air and 99 octane fuel
Did a dynotest on it the other day and found that it was some 298 kw. which is around 405 hp. this is not right though because the wheels spun in the dyno, the dyno sheet only shows speed of 150 km/h but the speedometer was up to 190 km/h.
The car is very powerful and spins wheels at 90 km/h (55 mph) but now I´m looking into getting a lighter car for this dragrace thing, a 99 is good option apart from the gearbox which is expensive if it has to take 400+ hp.
Now I have bought a GT 37 for more hp. and then I need to make me a pair of manifolds, which I have started on and hope I will be able to get to the track again this summer to get down to the 11´s.

Here http://www.icesaab.net/?i=2 you can see some pics and also here http://www.icesaab.net/?i=3 , these are some experiments with LH 2.2 and more.

More will hopefully follow as the project goes on.
